NSCDC Arrests Two Over Illegal Private Security Operations in Kwara

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has arrested two men over the alleged operation of an unlicensed private security outfit, Double Razzor, in the state.
The suspects, Abraham Stephen Job and Adebowale Qazeem Adeniyi, were arrested following an investigation into the activities of the outfit, which allegedly provided bouncer and other private security services without the requisite licence and statutory authorisation.
The Command said the investigation focused on the outfit’s licensing status and its legal authority to provide regulated private security services.
The alleged offences include operating a private security company without the required licence and providing regulated security services without the necessary statutory approval, in violation of applicable laws and regulations governing private guard companies in Nigeria.
The NSCDC stressed that it is statutorily empowered to regulate and license private guard companies, warning that individuals and organisations must obtain the necessary approvals before engaging in regulated private security operations.
The State Commandant, Commandant Abbas Ndah Mohammed, reaffirmed the Command’s determination to enforce compliance with the law and prevent unauthorised private security operations across Kwara State.
He urged event organisers, corporate organisations and members of the public to engage only duly licensed private security providers to ensure the safety of lives and property.
The Command reiterated its commitment to sanitising the private security sector, promoting accountability and ensuring that security service providers operate within the confines of the law.
