Saraki Calls for PDP Unity, Reconciliation Ahead of 2027 Elections
Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State to put aside differences, strengthen internal unity and work collectively to secure victory for the party in the 2027 general elections.
Saraki made the call after arriving in Ilorin, where he was received by a large crowd of PDP supporters at the Ilorin International Airport before proceeding to his residence, where he addressed party members and supporters.
According to his Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, Saraki expressed appreciation to the people of Kwara for their continued confidence in his leadership and commitment to the development of the state.
He commended PDP members and aspirants for their sacrifices, maturity and commitment to the party, particularly those who accepted the outcome of the party’s internal processes and continued to work for its success.
Saraki also praised members for their accommodating disposition towards former members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who had recently defected to the PDP in various wards and local government areas across the state.
He said the party’s strength depended largely on its ability to unite members, accommodate divergent views and pursue a common political objective.
The former Senate President urged party members to sustain the spirit of reconciliation and cooperation, stressing that collective effort would be critical to the PDP’s performance in the 2027 elections.
Some National Assembly candidates who attended the gathering also addressed the party faithful, expressing gratitude to the leadership and members for their support and confidence.
The candidates pledged their loyalty to the PDP and commitment to Saraki’s leadership, assuring members of their readiness to work together for the party’s success.
The gathering further underscored the PDP’s efforts to consolidate unity and reconciliation among its members as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections in Kwara State.
