Dr Alabi, in a goodwill message to mark the occasion, commended the renowned academic for his remarkable service to the education sector and his contributions to public administration, particularly during his tenure as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin and Chairman of the Federal Character Commission.

He described Abdulraheem, the Talba  of Ilorin Emirate, as a respected figure whose career reflects intellectual excellence, visionary leadership and an enduring commitment to the development of education and the Nigerian nation.

According to him, the celebrant’s years of service in the university system and public sector demonstrate the importance of knowledge, experience and purposeful leadership in building strong institutions.

Alabi noted that Abdulraheem’s tenure at the University of Ilorin represented an important chapter in the institution’s history, adding that his contributions to the growth of higher education have continued to inspire academics, students and administrators.

He also acknowledged the former Federal Character Commission chairman’s role in national affairs, stressing that public service requires integrity, fairness and a commitment to the principles of justice and national unity.

The AOT chieftain said Abdulraheem’s 79th birthday provided an opportunity not only to celebrate his longevity but also to reflect on a life devoted to scholarship, leadership and service to humanity.

Dr Alabi added that Nigeria needed more experienced leaders who could deploy their knowledge and wisdom to mentor younger generations, strengthen public institutions and promote peaceful coexistence.

“Prof. Shuaib Oba Abdulraheem is a distinguished Nigerian whose contributions to education, public administration and national development deserve recognition.

His life and career offer valuable lessons in dedication, intellectual discipline and service to humanity,” Alabi said.

He particularly commended the celebrant for the experience and institutional knowledge he had acquired over the years, noting that such wealth of experience remained invaluable to the younger generation of academics, administrators and public servants.

Alabi urged younger Nigerians to draw inspiration from Abdulraheem’s career by embracing hard work, discipline, integrity and a commitment to excellence in their chosen fields.

He said the development of Kwara State and Nigeria at large required the collective efforts of individuals who were prepared to place public interest above personal considerations.

The APC chieftain prayed that God would grant the former vice-chancellor renewed strength, sound health, peace and more fruitful years to continue contributing to the development of the state and the country.

He wished Abdulraheem a happy 79th birthday, describing the milestone as a celebration of a life of accomplishment and service.
