Corps Member Doctor Dies After He Was Denied Sick Leave Request

A 25-Year-Old Corps Member Doctor identified as Wisdom Oghenetega Enakirerhi, has allegedly died after he was denied the opportunity to go for a sick leave by his employers.
The tragic incident has sparked widespread reactions. It was alleged that the corps member reportedly died days after his request for sick leave was allegedly denied. However, details of his place of primary assignment were not stated.
According to reports, the young doctor was serving in the NYSC when he became seriously ill.
He kept requesting a sick leave to recover for 3 weeks, but his request was initially turned down.
According to the report by a Dr Akpoyibo, “A 25-year-old medical doctor who spent 7 years in medical school, completed a one-year internship, and was serving in the NYSC was sick, asked for permission for good three weeks’ leave, but he was not granted permission and now he is d+ad.”
The report further stated that “funny enough the father and brother of this young man are doctors. They asked that he should be allowed to come home for care but they refused.”
The report revealed that he was only allowed to go home few days before his demise.
