Gov. AbdulRazaq Sends Names of Two Commissioner Nominees To Assembly
Gov AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara has sent names of two Commissioner nominees to the state House of Assembly for screening and approval.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi Salihu, who presided over the plenary proceedings of the Assembly on Wednesday made the disclosure.
“Mr. Speaker read a letter from the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq submitting names of Nominees for appointments as Commissioners of the Government of Kwara State for confirmation by the Kwara State House of Assembly.
“The Nominees are:-
1- Saadatu Modibbo Kawu – Ilorin South; and
2- Abubakar Sadiq Buhari – Edu
“By leave of the House, Mr. Speaker announced that date of the screening of the Nominees would be announced on the next legislative day.”
Thereafter, Kwara State Revenue Administration (Amendment) Bill, 2020: KWHAB 9, which provided for a law to amend the Kwara State Revenue Administration Law, No 6 of 2015 passed through Second Reading after the House Leader, Hon.Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin (Ilorin Central) moved a motion for the Bill to be read the second time and seconded by Hon. Abdulkareem Babatunde Paku (Ipaiye/ Malete/Oloru.
Hon. Magaji in leading the debate on the Bill pointed out that the Bill is a 7- clause amendment seeking to improve on the efficiency and effectiveness in the administration of revenue in the State, it’s also seeking to improve on the conditions of service of employees of the service in order to boost their morale towards effective performance of their official duties in the overall attainment of the mandates of the Government agency.
The following Honourable members Contributed on the on the general principles of the amendment Bill; Hon. Aliyu Wahab Opakunle (Afon), Hon. Ganiyu Folabi Salau (Omupo), Hon. Ambali Olatunji Ibrahim (Owode/Onire) and Hon. Adetiba-Olanrewaju Raphael Olalekan (Oke Ero)
By leave of the House, Mr. Speaker directed the Clerk to the House to read the bill the second time and it eventually passed through Second Reading.
The bill was thereafter referred to the House Committee on Finance and Appropriation to conduct public hearing and report to the House in due course.
The motion for Adjournment was moved by the House Leader, Hon. Magaji Abubakar Olawoyin (Ilorin Central) seconded by Hon. Jimoh Raheem Agboola (Ilorin South).
