Forty-two graduates of the School of Discipleship and Leadership Development have been charged to go into the world and make a positive impact for Jesus Christ through evangelism, effective leadership and the transformation of lives.

The Proprietor and Founder of the School of Discipleship and Leadership Development, Pastor Dr. Jacob Elegun, gave the charge on Saturday during the graduation ceremony and annual revival conference of Faith Contenders Revival Ministry (FCRM) in Ilorin, Kwara State.

Pastor Elegun urged the graduands to go into a dying world to make a difference, serve as agents of positive change, transform lives and fulfil the biblical mandate of making disciples of all nations.

He said the graduands had been adequately equipped, empowered and trained to defend the Gospel and propagate the message of Christ wherever they found themselves across the world.

According to him, the ministry provides a platform for building men and women into great vessels in the hands of God for effective service in His kingdom.

He encouraged interested members of the public, irrespective of their denominations or locations, to enrol in the school and take advantage of the opportunity to receive sound biblical and leadership training.

“We encourage you to enrol, whether you are from Ilorin or outside the state, and take advantage of this unique opportunity to be trained for effective service to God.

“The School of Ministry operates a flexible programme that makes participation convenient for everyone. We meet every third weekend of the month for lectures.

“The school is tuition-free, with free accommodation, highly subsidized transportation, books and learning manuals provided for students from all denominations to make learning effective, interesting and impactful,” he said.

Pastor Elegun prayed that the graduands would go forth as arrows of the Lord’s deliverance, impacting lives and advancing the kingdom of God on earth.

Also speaking, the guest minister, Bishop David Abioye of Conqueror’s Assembly, Abuja, said God’s original purpose for creating man was to exercise dominion over all things on earth.

He explained that God created man to represent Him on earth and exercise authority over His creation, stressing that the ability to fulfil this divine mandate depended on the power of God.

According to him, the Scriptures consistently establish that power is essential for exercising dominion, describing the blessing of God as the foundation of man’s authority, as recorded in Genesis 1:26.

Bishop Abioye, however, warned that sin could destroy man’s spiritual authority and deprive him of his God-given dominion.

He therefore urged Christians to embrace sanctification, holiness and righteousness as essential requirements for sustaining their relationship with God and retaining their spiritual authority.

The cleric also emphasised the importance of prayer, declaring that the altar of prayer was a major source of spiritual power.

Citing biblical passages including Luke 5:17, 18:2, 4:14, 3:21–22 and 9:1, the Cleric said believers must remain committed to a consistent prayer life to overcome the challenges of life and fulfil their divine assignments.

He warned that Christians who neglected prayer risked becoming vulnerable to the circumstances and challenges of life.
Bishop Abioye identified knowledge of the Word of God as another major source of spiritual power, citing Hosea 4:6 and Job 12:3.

He urged believers to study, understand and confidently proclaim the Word of God, stressing that it should be spoken with faith, clarity, boldness, consistency and conviction as an instrument for exercising spiritual dominion.

The bishop further identified the confession of the Word of faith as another means of exercising spiritual authority, explaining that faith-filled declarations were essential to the believer’s walk with God and the fulfilment of divine purposes.

In his graduation lecture, Rev. Abel Aiyedogbon charged the graduands to be prepared to pay the necessary price for discipleship and effective leadership in the service of God.

He cautioned them against struggling for positions or appointments in the Church that had not been divinely entrusted to them, urging them instead to remain committed to their God-given assignments.

Rev. Aiyedogbon encouraged the graduands to depend on God’s power and ability in carrying out their ministerial responsibilities, noting that believers could accomplish all things through Christ who strengthens them.

“To succeed in ministry, you must lead by serving and serve in order to lead.

“Leadership is about influencing people positively, inspiring them to follow and helping others succeed in their respective assignments.

“Leaders must depend on God and lead by example,” he said.

Other guest ministers at the conference included Pastor Engr. Martins; Rt. Rev. Dr. Solomon Olusola; Rev. Dr. John Owoeye of Ibadan; and Rev. Dr. Kayode Ebenezer, among others.
