JUST IN: Ex- APC National Youth Leader defects to NDC, Joins Guber race

Sadiq Abubakar, a former All Progressives Congress (APC) National Youth Leader has defected to the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and is set to contest for Gombe state governorship election under the party.

Abubakar disclosed this in an interview with Newsmen in Bauchi on Thursday.

It could be recalled that the Former APC National Youth Leader had dumped the APC last week, citing hardship faced by many Nigerian homes due to difficult policies and programmes by the party.

According to him, the move was also driven by an objective of securing free and fair victory in future election primaries so as to continue to serve the people with strength and integrity and promised to announce his newly adopted political party in no distant time.

Speaking with newsmen, Abubakar explained that his decision to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) was as a result of a series of consultations with political associates, friends and family, adding the party is one of the few political parties with integrity.

“This is a political party where members are treated fairly and equally. It is a party where members’ mandates are not stolen or suppressed for favoured individuals.

“Whatever methods adopted by the party to select contestants either by party primaries or consensus will be accepted in good faith.

“This is a party with a more clear vision and the compassion to help the common man,” he said.
