A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Dr. Alabi Oluwatoyin Tajudeen (AOT), has urged Nigerians not to give up on the country, insisting that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda remains achievable and meaningful.
Dr. Alabi made the remarks on Thursday during the “Oro Ilu” programme on Sobi FM 101.9 in Ilorin, where he said the Renewed Hope slogan of the Tinubu administration reflects the need for Nigerians to remain optimistic about the future of the country.
According to him, his decision to join the governorship race was driven by a desire to make a difference and reposition Kwara State for sustainable growth, particularly in the interest of the downtrodden and vulnerable members of society.
He said the major challenge confronting the state was not the absence of resources, but the need for prudent management and committed leadership capable of transforming Kwara’s vast potential into economic prosperity for the people.
The APC governorship hopeful reiterated his commitment to transforming the state through a proposed seven-point agenda centred on security, free and compulsory world-class education, quality healthcare, agricultural revolution, modern infrastructure, tourism development and inclusive prosperity.
Dr. Alabi stressed that politics should be anchored on service to humanity, vision and commitment to public welfare rather than personal interests.

Speaking on healthcare while responding to questions from listeners during the programme, he said elderly citizens across the state should have access to free medical treatment for age-related ailments such as hypertension, diabetes and arthritis.
On security, the APC stalwart outlined a three-pronged approach aimed at tackling insecurity in parts of Kwara North and Kwara South affected by attacks and displacement.
He assured that displaced communities would be supported to return to their ancestral homes without delay.
“Our forests must be cleared, and criminal elements hiding in them must be flushed out for peace to return to the state,” he said.
Dr. Toyin Alabi also pledged that, if elected, his administration would construct a ring road linking the three senatorial districts to enhance connectivity, improve security and stimulate economic activities across the state.
He added that forest areas would be transformed into agricultural hubs as part of efforts to position Kwara as the food basket of the nation.

Describing the rate of out-of-school children in the state as unacceptable, the governorship aspirant promised to reduce the figure from 22 per cent to five per cent through the introduction of free and compulsory primary and secondary education.
“We are going to introduce free and compulsory world-class primary and secondary education in the state, which will significantly increase school enrollment.
“Education is one of the greatest legacies we can give our children and a critical foundation for sustainable development,” he said.
Alabi maintained that the current enrollment figures in public schools were within the capacity of government to manage effectively and provide free education.
He appealed to residents of the state and APC members to support and elect a God-fearing leader capable of building on the foundation laid by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“A greater Kwara is possible if we work together with sincerity, unity and the fear of God,” he added.

The governorship aspirant described his ambition as “God’s agenda” for the people of Kwara State.
Dr. Alabi, whose career has been characterised by innovation, ethical leadership and commitment to excellence, also addressed members of the Kwara South Elders, known as United Movement (KSUM) on security at Alakawa Motel in Omu-Aran, where he pledged to prioritise security and improve the welfare of vulnerable residents across the state, if elected in 2027.
