Residents of Warah Oja community in Ilorin can now rest a little easier after operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State apprehended a 24-year-old suspected serial burglar, Habeeb Suleiman, who has reportedly been terrorising the area for months.

The arrest took place in the early hours of Monday, June 3, 2025, after residents raised an alarm when the suspect attempted to escape with a stolen generator. Quick response from the NSCDC ensured his capture and the launch of a thorough investigation into his activities.

According to findings by the Corps, Habeeb is believed to be a habitual offender, well-known within the community for repeatedly breaking into homes and carting away valuables.

Confirming the development, the NSCDC Kwara State Commandant, Dr. Umar J.G. Mohammed, said the suspect had already confessed to his crimes and would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

“This arrest is a testament to the Corps’ readiness to confront crime head-on, especially with the festive period approaching,” Dr. Mohammed stated. “We are committed to ensuring peace and safety in every part of Kwara State.”
