Olomu of Omupo, Buari tasks residence on unity, development
The Olomu of Omupo Land in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State, HRM, Oba Muhammad Yakubu Adebayo Buari II, has urged all sons and daughters of the kingdom to come together and develop the ancient city
Oba Yakubu made the call on Saturday in a statement, made available to newsmen in Ilorin.
The statement, centered on peaceful coexistence among all and Sundry in the country and in Kwara in particular.
The royal father urged all residents to see the Omupo as their own by making sure they play their roles always and regularly toward the development of the community
He also encouraged those in diaspora to come home and join in the effort to develop the city.
While appreciating all the support received so far ,the monarch called upon Nigerians and Kwarans to belief in the “One Nation, One Destiny”project as enshrined by the founding father’s of the Country.
Oba Buari urged residents to celebrate with modesty and prayer for peace and progress of the country.
Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of Omupo Descendants Union,Mallam Mustafa Abubakar Gaata, has urged sons and daughters of Omupo Land, to go about their legitimate businesses and other assigned functions, during this years Yuletide, with their nose mask and other COVID-19 protocols.
Mallam Mustafa made the call in Ilorin on the forthcoming activities, tagged,”ODU AGM 2021″, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 28th December 2021 at town’s St. Michael Anglican Primary School open field by 11:00am.
“Let me remind all sons and daughters of Omupo Land in Ifelodun Local Government of Kwara State ,Nigeria , that as they go about attending to their various activities in this Yuletide period in the town and outside, they should remember to use nose mask and make their day full with proceedings in line with all COVID-19 rules”, he said.
He also reminded all Deputy Vice President of the Union that as they are mobilizing adequate attendance from their branches to come home for various activities including the meeting, they should also remember that Omupo needs the all round support of all sons and daughters within and outside the country.
Mustafa, who thanked them for their support all these years, wished them God’s blessings as they do more for the development of the town.
