Olubadan passes on, remains arrive for burial

The body of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, has arrived at the Popoyemoja Palace, Ibadan.
His remains was conveyed in an ambulance of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan.
It was learnt that his body arrived at about 10:40am.
Clerics were already at the palace for prayers.
It was gathered that he will buried today in accordance with Islamic rites.
Oba Adetunji was aged 93.
Sympathisers have besieged the palace to mourn the monarch.
The transition of the 41st Olubadan of Ibadanland, and Chairman, Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs, Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 was formally announced on Sunday.
A statement signed by Mr Adeola Oloko, Personal Assistant/Director of Media and Publicity of the late monarch read in part: “Oba Adetunji, 93, passed away in the early hours of this morning at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.”
