Kidnapped Kwara Chief, Erubu Regains Freedom
Dr Folorunso Zubair Erubu , who was recently kidnapped while on his way to Ago-Oja, Asa Local Government Area of Kwara state eight days ago, has been released by his abductors.
Meanwhile, the kidnappers had demanded N60 million ransom.
Funsho Erubu, a medical doctor, is also the Magaji of Erubu , Ilorin.
Dr Erubu, however, retired as Permanent Secretary in the state a few years ago
Spokesperson for the Nigeria Police Force in Kwara state, Ajayi Okasanmi, a Superintendent of Police, confirmed his release in a brief statement about the development on Thursday in ilorin.
He said, “The victim of the kidnap incident that took place on the 9/12/2021 at Afon area of Ilorin, Dr Folorunso Zubair Erubu has been released this morning, after days of thorough search and rescue operation directed by the commissioner of police, CP Tuesday Assayomo.
The release was made possible through the cooperation of his family members , the Community and other security stakeholders, vigilante and hunters.
Detailed report would be made public as soon as it is available, please” he added.
