Nigeria Security Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) kwara state command, vigilante and Police Force have reportedly prevented suspected herders loaded in trucks from entering Ipee town in Oyun Local Government Area.
A statement signed by the spokesperson of the NSCDC, kwara command, Babawale Zaid Afolabi called on the residence of communities in Kwara south senatorial district to be security conscious and report any unusual movement to security agencies.
According to him, at about 0800hrs on Tuesday 4th May 2021 four (4) trucks fully loaded with Fulani/bororo herdsmen entered Ipee township
But, unfortunately for them, people of Ipee and all the local vigillantes came out enmass to disallow them from entering the town with the help NSCDC officers in Ipee and the NPF who led them out with their patrol van”
“We received an information that herders from OSUN and ONDO states were moving in large numbers to the Ipee town, which shared boundary with Offa Local Government.
“These herders were sent packing by Ondo and Osun States due to the criminal activities being carried out by the group.
“We also identified that herders who came into the boundary were loaded in four trailers along side their cattle and wanted to settle in Offa.
“On this note security agencies in Offa had intercepted and led them out towards boundary between Osun and kwara state,” he said.
The agency, however, called on the people of Kwara communities to be proactive and report any strange movement in their vicinities to the security agencies.

“We advised the towns that shared border with Offa to be proactive, promptly raise alarm wherever they notice or suspect any strange movement.
“There is the need to be security conscious about bandits and also notify peoples around them and report to security agencies nearest to them,” he added.
