Kwara Govt distributes instructional materials in SUBEB schools

The Kwara State Government has distributed instructional materials worth millions of naira to public primary and junior secondary schools under the Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Speaking during the distribution in Ilorin, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the gesture was intended to strengthen public basic education in the state.
The governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, said the distribution underscored the commitment of his administration to give a solid foundation to Kwara children towards finding their feet in life.
” This underscore our commitment to give solid fundation to Kwara child to find their best feet through life” he said.
He added that government is providing further ease and quality basic education”.
The governor added that this administration is poised to ensure that teachers and indeed all workers in the state are being sorted one after the other.
“This comes on the heels of massive investment in infrastructural development across social sectors, especially basic education in the state.
Today, we are fixing schools’ facilities in more than 600 locations. Our administration has also ensured that teachers are paid as and when due, while promotion arrears are being sorted one after the other,” he stated.
He added, “We have also implemented the full minimum wage in a way never seen before in the recent history of Kwara State. All of these are meant to place the state on a sound footing.
In his address the executive Chairman of Kwara state , SUBEB, Professor Shehu Adaramaja, has described the ceremony as historic.
He called that Kwara state has been blacklisted for inability to meet certain demands under UBEC scheme not untill after the payment of counterpart funds under the government of AbdulRazaq.
Some of the instructional materials, include Mattresses, computer systems, rubber, sport kits for all the sixteen Local Government areas of the state, 10 mobile class rooms among others materials were provided for the used of the sixteen Local Government of the State.
