Kwarapoly Issues Final Notice on Unclaimed Certificates, Introduces ₦2,000 Monthly Demurrage from January 2027

The Management of Kwara State Polytechnic, Ilorin, has issued a final notice to all graduands and alumni whose certificates remain unclaimed, some of which have been in the custody of the Polytechnic for several years, to come forward and collect them without further delay.

A statement issued and signed by the Deputy Registrar, Examinations and Records Division, Mr. Saka Ibrahim Eletu, on behalf of the Ag. Registrar, disclosed that the Polytechnic authority has observed that a considerable number of certificates belonging to former students who successfully completed their programmes are still uncollected, despite the importance of these certificates for employment, further studies, professional advancement and other official engagements.

The statement urged all concerned graduands and alumni to come forward and collect their Diploma, Higher Diploma, National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND) and Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) certificates on or before 31st December, 2026.

It added that certificates are ready for collection at the Examinations and Records Division of the Polytechnic during official working hours.

According to the statement, with effect from 1st January, 2027, any certificate that remains unclaimed will attract a demurrage charge of ₦2,000.00 (Two Thousand Naira) per month.

All concerned graduands and alumni are therefore advised to take advantage of this grace period to retrieve their certificates before the deadline to avoid payment of the demurrage charge.

The statement stressed that the Original Statement of Result, Valid Means of Identification and Evidence of Payment for Certificate are the requirements for collection.

Graduands and alumni are to contact the Polytechnic via WhatsApp on 08168515577 or 08069505277 for further enquiries.
