The newly deployed Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, CC Abbas Nda Mohammed, has pledged to adopt a more robust, intelligence-driven, and proactive approach to tackling insecurity and safeguarding lives, as well as critical national infrastructure across the state.
Speaking during a media engagement with journalists in Ilorin on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, Commandant Abbas said his administration would be anchored on intelligence-led operations and proactive community engagement aimed at strengthening the state’s internal security architecture.
He noted that crime would not be tolerated under his leadership, directing all heads of tactical units to intensify 24-hour surveillance and patrols across strategic and vulnerable locations. He affirmed that the command is fully prepared to deploy all lawful measures to detect, prevent, and prosecute offenders in line with existing laws.
Reaffirming the importance of synergy in modern security management, Abbas assured that the command would continue to strengthen collaboration with sister security agencies, traditional institutions, community leaders, and other relevant stakeholders to effectively address emerging security challenges.
He also reiterated the command’s commitment to professionalism, discipline, and efficient service delivery. He urged residents of Kwara State to remain vigilant and support security agencies by providing timely, accurate, and credible information to the appropriate authorities.
