NGO to train 2000 youths on AI, tech, entrepreneurship in Kwara

A Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO,) Kwara Build has concluded plans to train about 2,000 youths in the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI), technology in relation to Entrepreneurship.

The Chief Operating Officer (COO), Kwara Build, Mr Kehinde Kamaldeen, made the revelation of the programme named Kwara Build Tech Conference 2024 (#KBTC24), while speaking with newsmen on Tuesday in Ilorin.

Mr Kamaldeen said the three-days training which is in its 7th edition and scheduled for Nov. 21 to Nov. 23 was meant to empower the tech ecosystem in Kwara.

He said the training would improve the participants’ skills as well as find solutions to the nation’s lingering crises in digital and technical sectors.

The COO said the teeming youths in Nigeria have potentials to turn the economy around but can only thrive in an enabling environment.

”We have talented youths that can think outside the box to bring solutions to the challenges we have, but they have limited resources to carry them out.

“In the past six editions, the conference has been a driving force in fostering technological growth, collaboration, innovation, attracting founders, investors, corporate leaders and government representatives from across the continent.

”The 2024 edition themed: “Future Forward: Addressing Local and Global Challenges through collaborative Innovation,” would address the growing need for tech-driven solutions to complex challenges,” Kamaldeen said.

The Programme Lead/Co-founder, Mr Zulkifl Ibrahim said the 2024 KBTC conference will serve as a platform for innovators, start-ups, and thought leaders to exchange ideas.

”They will also build partnerships and inspire future tech innovations within Kwara and beyond.

”The seminar would further teach the participants on how to use AI to enhace businesses and skills.

”It will be preceded with a conferece, and the famous renowned African technical ecosystem leader and investor, Musty Mustapha among others would deliver keynote address,” Mr Ibrahim said.

He, however, hinted that an undisclosed United Kingdom (UK-based) philanthropist facilitated the payments of 500 of the over 2,000 participants.

The tech specialist said registration for the training can be done through the organisation’s website:  www.kwarabuild.com and the selection will be on a first come, first serve basis. (NAN)

He further announced that the event will conclude with the prestigious Awards Night, recognizing outstanding contributions to the innovation ecosystem.
