Aliko Dangote Reveals He Owns Only Two Houses in Nigeria
Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, has disclosed that he owns just two houses globally—one in Lagos and another in Kano, his home state.
During a media interaction at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, Dangote shared that he rents the house he stays in whenever he is in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
He explained that his commitment to Nigeria’s industrialization is the reason he does not own properties outside the country.
“I once had a house in London, but I sold it in 1996. The reason I don’t have a house in London or America is that I wanted to focus on industrialization in Nigeria,”
“If I had those houses, there would be reasons for me to visit, which would be a distraction. I am very passionate about the Nigerian dream,” Dangote said.
Fatima Dangote, the Group Executive Director of Commercial Operations, commended her father for his dedication to Nigeria.
“I have not seen anyone as hardworking as my father. Sometimes I wonder how he never gives up. I wish we had a few more men like my father in Nigeria; the country would be a better place,” she said.
