The Kwara State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu has commended the initiative of the Etsu Patigi, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II for setting up the Patigi Education Trust Fund.

Rt. Hon. Engr. Danladi-Salihu who spoke at the 2023 Nko Salah gathering in the Patigi local government area of the state described the initiative as a novel that is capable of supporting the Government’s ongoing efforts in the area of educational revolution in the state.

“The Kwara State Governor, His Excellency Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has invested so much in the education sector during his first term in office, and when he came on board for a second term in office, he has sent the executive bill – Kwara State Educational Trust Fund to the House of Assembly which is currently receiving legislative attention”

“Everyone of us knows the importance of education in our respective communities and for Patigi I would like to commend Your Royal Highness for thinking ahead of others (Local Government Areas in Kwara North) to put up this initiative to help our children. As the Vice Chairman Kwara State Traditional Council, I want to appeal to Your Highness to sell the idea to others (traditional rulers) so that it could spread across the state thereby complementing the effort of the present administration”

“I want to assure you of the commitment of the government of Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to sustain the heavy investment made in education in this second tenure in office as he did during his first term”

Earlier in his address, the Etsu Patigi, His Royal Highness Alhaji Ibrahim Umar Bologi II explained that the rationale behind the trust fund was to complement the government’s educational reform in the state by supporting the less privileged members of the community from primary schools to higher institutions by providing them with scholarship and other learning materials.

Highlights of the program included the foundation laying of Patigi Community Radio station, a computer-based test centre, the conferment of traditional chieftaincy titles, and cultural displays among others.

Also present at the program were; Hon. Ahmed Saba, Member representing Edu/Moro/Patigi federal constituency; Hon. Musa Kareem Mohammed, Patigi constituency; Hon.
