2023 Election: Kwara PDP Governorship Candidate Pledges To Create 400,000 Jobs, If Elected
The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party ( PDP) Kwara State, Alhaji Shuaibu Yaman Abdullahi has expressed the readiness to creat 400,000 new jobs in six years to address youth unemployment in the state, if elected as governor of the state in 2023 general election.
Alhaji Yaman who stated this while addressing his supporters in Ilorin with the theme: The Yaman Kwara 2023 plan expressed concern on the present situation of youths in the state noted that the youths are the stepping stone to the future.
He also stressed the need for unity and youths empowerment. “Men and women would be empower to become something in future”
” Our conscience tell us to pay attention to the children of the poor.” He said
He also expressed the readiness to create enabling environment for young entrepreneur and farmers to thrive.
“Youth would be sent abroad to learn shoe making and be big exporters of high quality shoes, fish farmers will prosper given the huge market for fish.
“Ilorin would be the commercial hub of Nigeria given to the international airport.
The prices of goods in Ilorin would be cheaper than the price in Lagos,” he promised.
He added that agriculture and mineral resources would be given priority noting that the vast land of Baruten and Kiama would be used for cotton as agriculture would be done with full mechanization.
He added that 250 tractors would be provided in the state, adding that 250 hecters would also be provided for young men to farm.
He also said that they would set up ranches in Kiama and Moro, local government area of the state to be the highest producer of milk.
“Ilorin would become the commercial centre of the North to grow fresh flowers,” he added
He said that casava revolution would be done in the Southern part of the state
He said banks would be assisted given loans to artisans to expand their businesses as social, public infrastructure, education, health care, security and transportation would be given priority
Earlier, Kwara PDP Chairman Alhaji Babatunde Mohammed said the party didn’t loose the Presidential and National assembly election added that they would retain their mandate
He urged the party supporters not to be demoralized added they should go back to their various wards and mobilize added that PDP will rule the state
He encouraged members of the party to be friendly with other political parties as the two parties will work together for the development of the state.
