Fire Guts Duplex In Ilorin

A Duplex behind Michael imodu Institute of Labour Studies, Olunlade area, Ilorin, Ilorin South Local Government, Kwara State was last night prevented from being completely razed down by fire.

According to report, men of the Kwara State Fire Service who were notified by one Mrs Adetona at about a quarter to seven in the evening were able to put out the ravaging fire on time.

The Firemen saved four out of the five bedrooms in the duplex while one bedroom was affected.

The course of the inferno was attributed to electric power surge.

Director, Kwara State Fire Service, Prince John Falade, however, urged the general public not to hesitate to call fire brigade on time whenever there is any fire emergency in their areas, so as to save lives and properties of people.

Prince Falade advised members of the public to always put off electrical appliances when not in use to prevent fire disaster.
