Foundation donates school items to 50 children of PWDs in Kwara

Ilorin – The Founder of Help Women Foundation, Ayobola Ipinlaiye, has distributed school items to over 50 children of People Living with Disabilities (PWDs) in Kwara.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the distribution was supported by the Dele Shittu Foundation, and the Chief Executive Officer of ISHI Homes Limited, Dr Olayinka Ilufoye.

The items distributed includes 15 school bags, 10 pairs of school sandals and socks, 25 exercise books and five water bottles to the children.

Speaking on the sidelines of the distribution, Ipinlaiye said the gesture was aimed at supporting the education of children of PWDs and easing the burden on their parents.

The philanthropist said every child deserves access to quality education, regardless of background, and called on well-meaning Nigerians to support vulnerable families.

In his remarks, the Kwara Chairman of the Joint National Association of Persons With Disabilities (JONAPWD), Mr Adedayo Olayinka, commended the organisers for the kind gesture.

Olayinka, who was represented by the General Secretary of the Association, Mr Lukman Abefe, said the association was deeply appreciative of the support, describing it as a demonstration of love and inclusion.

Olayinka noted that children of PWDs were often neglected and that the intervention by Help Women Foundation and Dele Shittu Foundation had brought joy and hope to many families.

“This act of kindness shows that we are not forgotten. Many of our children struggle to go to school due to lack of basic learning materials.

“What you have done today will go a long way in boosting their morale and encouraging them to stay in school.

“We pray that God will replenish you and expand your foundations,” he said.

Olayinka urged other well-meaning individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture and support the education of vulnerable children.

Also, in his appreciative remark, the General Secretary of JONAPWD, Ilorin East Local Government Area, Mr Balogun Olusola, commended the founder for remembering children of persons with disabilities.

He observed that every little kindness matters and can make lasting difference in the society.

One of the parents and member of JONAPWD, Mr Siddiq Mogaji, also commended Ipinlaiye for the humanitarian gesture and described it as timely and impactful. (NAN)
