Governor AbdulRazaq Elevates Olomu of Omupo, Oba Yakub Adebayo Buari II, to First-Class Status

The Olomu of Omupo, His Royal Majesty Oba Muhammed-Yakubu Adebayo Buari II, FCA, FCMA, FCIS, FCTI, Ilufemiloye, has been elevated to the prestigious status of a First-Class Traditional Ruler by the Kwara State Government.
The historic elevation, approved by the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has been described as a landmark development for the ancient Omupo Kingdom and a significant recognition of the traditional institution and its contributions to the peace, unity and development of the state.
The announcement has elicited widespread jubilation among the people of Omupo, both at home and in the diaspora, who described the elevation as a well-deserved honour for the monarch and the kingdom.
Oba Buari II, who ascended the throne as the Olomu of Omupo, has continued to provide traditional leadership while promoting peace, unity, community development and harmonious relationships among his subjects and neighbouring communities.
The elevation to First-Class status is therefore being regarded by the people as an important milestone in the history of Omupo and an affirmation of the relevance and dignity of its traditional institution.
In a congratulatory message, the people of Omupo Kingdom expressed profound appreciation to Governor AbdulRazaq for recognising and elevating the Olomu to the First-Class category.
The people described the governor’s decision as a historic recognition that would further strengthen the traditional institution and enhance the status of Omupo in the traditional structure of Kwara State.
They also congratulated Oba Muhammed-Yakubu Adebayo Buari II, describing his elevation as a source of pride not only to the monarch but to the entire Omupo Kingdom.

The people prayed that Almighty God would grant the monarch wisdom, sound health, strength and a long reign to continue providing exemplary leadership and contributing to the growth and development of the kingdom.
They further expressed confidence that the elevation would open a new chapter in the history of Omupo, strengthen unity among the people and encourage greater development initiatives across the kingdom.
The development is also expected to further enhance the role of the Olomu’s traditional institution in promoting peace, cultural values and community development in Omupo and beyond.
While celebrating the elevation, the people called on sons and daughters of Omupo in Nigeria and the diaspora to rally around the monarch and support initiatives aimed at accelerating the socio-economic development of the kingdom.
The people of Omupo also extended their appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and his administration for what they described as a historic and highly significant recognition.
They prayed for the continued success of the governor’s administration and for peace, progress and prosperity across Kwara State.
With the elevation, the people of Omupo believe that a new chapter has been opened in the history of the kingdom and expressed optimism that the recognition would inspire greater unity, development and collective responsibility among its people.
