Olomu of Omupo Congratulates Gov AbdulRazaq the New Sardauna of Ilorin Emirate
The Olomu of Omupo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Muhammad Yakubu Adebayo Buari II, has extended warm congratulations to the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, CON, on his turbaning as the Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate.
The Olomu described the occasion as historic and a significant celebration of leadership, tradition, service and the enduring values that bind the people of the Emirate together.
In a congratulatory message personally signed by the Olomu, His Royal Majesty described the conferment of the prestigious traditional title on the Governor as a worthy recognition of his leadership and contributions to the peace, unity and development of Kwara State.
He noted that the occasion goes beyond the conferment of a traditional title, stressing that it represents an important moment in the history and cultural heritage of the Ilorin Emirate.
According to Oba Yakubu Buari II, the turbaning reaffirm the enduring relevance of traditional institutions in promoting unity, peaceful coexistence and communal development.
The Olomu commended Governor AbdulRazaq for his commitment to the growth and development of Kwara State, noting that his service to the people has continued to attract recognition across different segments of society.
He observed that traditional institutions remain critical custodians of culture, history, values and communal identity, adding that the elevation of the Governor into the traditional fold further strengthens the relationship between government, traditional authorities and the people.
According to him, the turbaning provides another opportunity to celebrate the bonds of unity and mutual respect that exist among the various communities within the Ilorin Emirate and the wider Kwara society.
“This is a moment of honour, tradition and unity. I congratulate Your Excellency on this distinguished recognition and pray that the new responsibility entrusted to you will further strengthen your commitment to the people and the development of our dear state,” the monarch said.
The Olomu further expressed confidence that Governor AbdulRazaq would bring the same dedication, wisdom and commitment associated with his public service to his new traditional responsibility.
He prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to grant the Governor wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance in the discharge of his responsibilities as Governor of Kwara State and as the newly turbaned Sardauna of the Ilorin Emirate.
Oba Buari reaffirmed his commitment to unity, peaceful coexistence, cultural heritage and collective development, while wishing the Governor continued success in his service to Kwara State.
