Alabi Joins Igbaja Leaders to Celebrate IPU Exco 100 Days, Support ₦200m Lagos Branch House Fundraising
Dr. Oluwatoyin Tajudeen Alabi (AOT), a prominent Kwara community leader, has joined distinguished leaders, traditional representatives and members of the Igbaja community at a ceremony marking the first 100 days in office of the leadership of the Igbaja Progressive Union (IPU) Lagos Branch.
The event, which also featured a ₦200 million fundraising campaign for the ongoing construction of the IPU Lagos Branch House, brought together prominent sons and daughters of Igbaja, community leaders, traditional representatives and other stakeholders committed to the development of the community.
The gathering provided an opportunity for members of the community and their leaders to reflect on achievements recorded within the first 100 days of the present leadership, while also mobilising support for a permanent structure that is expected to serve as a centre for community activities and development initiatives in Lagos.
Among those in attendance were local government leaders, traditional rulers and their representatives, as well as executives of community unions and development organisations from Igbaja and beyond.
The participation of traditional representatives underscored the importance attached to the initiative by the traditional institution, while the presence of community and union executives demonstrated the collective interest in projects aimed at strengthening unity and promoting the welfare of Igbaja people.
The event also attracted key stakeholders, dignitaries, fathers of the day and chief launchers, who lent their support to the fundraising initiative and the broader vision of providing the Igbaja community with an enduring infrastructural asset in Lagos.
Speaking on the occasion, Alabi, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress APC in Kwara State, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives capable of promoting unity, community development and socio-economic advancement.
He said collective efforts remained essential to achieving sustainable development, stressing the need for individuals, community organisations and leaders to continue to support projects that would benefit present and future generations.
According to him, the development of community infrastructure goes beyond the provision of physical structures, as it also creates platforms for interaction, collaboration, cultural preservation and the advancement of common interests.
Dr Alabi commended the leadership and members of the IPU Lagos Branch for their commitment to the project and urged other stakeholders and well-meaning individuals to contribute towards its successful completion.
He reiterated his determination to support initiatives that promote the progress and wellbeing of Igbaja land and Kwara State at large.
The fundraising event therefore served not only as a celebration of the leadership’s first 100 days in office, but also as a renewed call for collective action towards the completion of the IPU Lagos Branch House.
The project is expected to further strengthen the organisational activities of the Igbaja community in Lagos and provide a platform for community engagement, meetings and other developmental programmes.
