Tinubu’s vow to fix refineries reassuring, realizable – Group

The Tinubu Media Volunteers (TMV) has described as re-assuring and realizable a pledge by President Bola Tinubu to the leadership of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) to revive the dormant refineries in the country..

This, according to him, is because of the President’s long-established and widely-acknowledged ability and integrity to keep promises.

In a statement signed by its Chairman Chukwudi Enekwechi and Secretary Segun Ogedengbe, TMV argued that President Tinubu was noted for walking his talk.

It said: “We are gratified that the President hinged his belief on the workability, profitability and sustainability of the refineries when they are eventually revived.

“Similarly, we acknowledge that President Tinubu hinged the reactivation of the refineries on the economic and structural reset agenda of his administration.

“The mere fact that he also accepted the responsibility of reviving the refineries without blaming or passing the buck to the previous administrations clearly shows his determination and ultimate realization of the projects.

‘We are also glad that the President is committed to the refineries coming back on stream as the positive impact will percolate to the various sectors of the economy. Apart from making fuel available to Nigerians, it will also drive down the cost of petroleum products in the country.

“Definitely the reduction in the pumps prices of petroleum products will also reduce inflation arising from the high cost of goods and services in the country.

“We also note with emphasis that the President is upbeat that the revival of the refineries will yield profitable results and economic value to the country.”

TMV enjoined Nigerians to keep hope alive and be assured that the President will follow through with his promise on the refineries.
