Shonga Community Maize Farmers Commend Gov. AbdulRazaq’s Agricultural Inputs Intervention in Kwara

 

 

Farmers in Shonga Community, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State, have expressed appreciation to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for providing agricultural inputs to boost food production in the state.

In a statement, the Maize Farmers’ Contact Community Leader, Muhammad Mohammed Pogi, described the introduction of the “Kwara State 2026 Wet Season Special Maize Intervention for Communities Affected by Banditry and Natural Disasters” for clustered maize farmers as a commendable initiative.

According to him, the intervention reflects Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to ensuring food sufficiency and supporting farmers during the current planting season.

Mohammed Pogi also commended the Commissioner for Livestock Development, who also serves as the Supervising Commissioner for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, for her resilience and dedication in ensuring that the intervention reached genuine farmers at the appropriate time.

He noted that the distribution of high-quality Golden Fertiliser, agrochemicals and improved maize seedlings would significantly enhance productivity and improve the livelihoods of beneficiary farmers.

The farmers’ leader thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his positive response to the yearnings and aspirations of farmers across the state.

He assured the state government of the continued support of maize farmers for its agricultural policies and programmes, pledging their commitment to ensuring the success of initiatives aimed at improving food production and strengthening food security in Kwara State.
