NSCDC Calls on Kwara Residents to Identify, Claim Property Recovered from Robbery Syndicate

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kwara State Command, has appealed to members of the public whose belongings may have been stolen to come forward and identify items recovered from an interstate robbery syndicate recently dismantled by the Command.
The Command said the recovered property is currently being kept at its headquarters in Ilorin pending identification and verification by rightful owners.
The appeal was contained in a statement issued on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASC I Ayoola Michael Shola.
According to the statement, the recovered items include a Suzuki mini bus with registration number NRK 508 XD, a deep freezer, standing fans, a Nexus washing machine, Panasonic gas burners, Hisense air conditioners and Sectron water pump generators.
Other recovered items are cartons of Golden Penny Chicken Flavour noodles, cartons of Terra Maggi seasoning cubes, a wardrobe, a 6×4 Mouka foam mattress, an isolator switch, two 5,000-watt stabilisers, a television shelf, a 50kg bag of sugar, two 10kg bags of Semovita, a bicycle and two 25kg containers of groundnut oil.
Ayoola urged anyone who believes the recovered items belong to them to visit the NSCDC State Command Headquarters in Ilorin between July 3 and July 17, 2026, for identification and collection.
“We urge members of the public who can identify any of the recovered items as their property to visit the Command Headquarters in Ilorin within the stipulated period to claim them,” he said.
He explained that prospective claimants would be required to provide convincing proof of ownership before any item could be released.
“Claimants must present valid proof of ownership, including purchase receipts, invoices, warranty documents, photographs, registration documents where applicable, police reports or any other credible evidence to establish ownership,” Ayoola stated.
He added that the Command would only release the recovered property after thorough verification.
“Only persons who satisfactorily establish ownership after due verification by the Command will have the recovered items released to them,” he said.
