UNILORIN FM pays courtesy visit to new Chief Imam of Ilorin

The management of the University of Ilorin Radio Station, UNILORIN 89.3FM, has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Bashir Dasuki (Imam Fulani), following his recent appointment as the spiritual leader of the Ilorin Emirate.
The visit took place at the Chief Imam’s family house residence in Sanni Okin area of Ilorin.
Speaking during the visit, the General Manager of UNILORIN 89.3 FM, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Akintola (Alooma), congratulated Sheikh Dasuki on his appointment, describing him as a worthy choice due to his sound knowledge of Islam, Western education and exemplary character.
Alhaji Akintola noted that the new Chief Imam had been a regular guest on UNILORIN 89.3FM, where he consistently preached messages of peace and religious harmony.
He conveyed the goodwill of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, (SAN), and the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, assuring the Chief Imam of the station’s continued support.
According to him, UNILORIN FM would provide free coverage of the Chief Imam’s major religious activities, including Jum’ah sermons, Eid celebrations and other significant programmes to ensure wider public access to his messages.
Mr Akintola also disclosed that the Chief Imam would be invited to the station after his official turbaning ceremony to address listeners and share his vision for the Muslim community.
He prayed for Allah’s guidance, protection, long life and success for Sheikh Dasuki in the discharge of his new responsibilities.
In his response, the 13th Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Bashir Dasuki, expressed appreciation to the management and staff of UNILORIN FM for the visit and their support. He prayed for the continued growth and success of the University and the radio station at large.
The Chief Imam also acknowledged the role played by Imam Abdulmalik Abdulkadir in facilitating his engagement with UNILORIN 89.3FM, noting that his participation in the station’s programmes had been rewarding and impactful.
Present at the visit includes the presenter of Al-Irshad program, Alhaji Abdulrasheed Modele, the Assistant Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Mustafa Abubakar; Mr Tijani Adekola Adewoyin; Mr Bashir Dawodu; and Mrs Bashirat Omotosho.
