Concerned stakeholders and education advocates under the auspices of Omupo Descendants Union (ODU) have decided to pay NECO Examination fees of 20 intelligent but indigent sstudents from the town.

This is contained in a statement signed by Chief Taju Adigun, the National Secretary of the ODU and made available to newsmen in Omupo.

According to him, beneficiaries are students of the two public secondary schools in the town – Omupo Grammar School (OGS) and Omupo Muslim College (OMC).

“The intervention is to widen the opportunities for educational progression and future of the intelligent but indigent students of the two public schools.

“It is also meant to save the two schools from being de-recognized by the examination body.

“Stakeholders, alumni associations, philanthropists, community leaders, and well-meaning individuals have therefore been called upon to support the initiative of ODU in order to secure the future of education in the community and provide deserving students with the opportunity to continue their academic pursuits, Alhaji Adigun said.
