Atiku worried by conscience, Tinubu’s remark on use of insecurity by detractors, valid – Group

The Democratic Front (TDF) has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was spot on, with regard to his remarks about the use of insecurity by the opponents of his government who are desperate to oust him from office.
In a statement signed by its Chairman Mallam Danjuma Muhammad and Secretary Chief Wale Adedayo, the group argued that there are enough reasons to agree that the security situation in the country is contrived
“We note with hindsight, that insecurity gained a disturbing momentum under this administration in November 2025, when school girls were abducted in Kebbi and Niger states, following a similar terror attack in Kwara State.
“The similarities in the terror attacks, which stretched through the North West and North Central borders of Nigeria with the Republic of Benin, strongly suggested a well-coordinated terror plot that was meant to coincide with the 2027 electioneering campaign period.
“The hyping of insecurity as a major campaign slogan by the detractors of the Tinubu administration, coupled with the blind refusal by the naysayers to recognize the outstanding efforts of security agencies in tackling the scourge of insecurity, more than any other factor, validates the President’s claims on the use of insecurity as a tool by those who desperately want to oust him from power by all means,” it said.
TDF added that it was surprised by the response from former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to the President’s remarks on insecurity.
“Although we do not have any reason to accuse the former Vice President of complicity, we, however, find it necessary to interrogate Atiku Abubakar’s deafening silence and inaction about the overwhelming involvement of his kinsmen, the nomadic Fulani ethnic group, in the ongoing banditry and kidnapping that have engulfed Northern Nigeria.
“As the Waziri of Adamawa Emirate, Atiku Abubakar ranks as the most senior Politician and statesman of Fulani extraction but unfortunately, he has never attempted to use his privileged position, as the Number 2 citizen of Adamawa Emirate, which traditionally oversights all the Fulani communities in Cameroun, Niger, Senegal, Burkina – Faso, Mali, Chad and wherever the Fulanis resides in West Africa, to initiate a non kinetic advocacy that will extricate nomadic Fulanis from participating in the banditry and kidnapping that is ravaging Nigeria, an action that would have been appreciated by every well meaning citizen.
“To the contrary, the former Vice President relishes in reflexive criticism of government programmes to promote his political ambition, whenever there is a terror attack on Nigerians.
“To this end, we acknowledge and appreciate the relentless efforts of President Tinubu to tackle insecurity, since the commencement of his administration in May 2023. We urge him to remain focused on implementing his strategic national security plans to eliminate insecurity in the country,” TDF said.
