Ramadan/Lenten: Cleric urges christians, muslims to be pur in character, intercede for Nigeria

The Chief Imam, Ajiyobiojo Central Mosque, Surulere Community,Ilorin, Alhaji Saheed Ajiyobiojo has urged Muslims and Christians to be pure in character and intercede for Nigeria during the ongoing Ramadan/ Lenten fasting season.
Ajiyobiojo, who made the call in Ilorin on Saturday during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria ( NAN), said the fasting season should be use to focus on Nigeria in prayers for insecurity and leaders.
The Al- Imam described the holy month as special for both Muslims and Christians whose fasting season was coincidental.
” It is not always common to witness this special month where the fasting season for both Christians and Muslims to commence fasten at the same time.
” I urge both observers to be pure in character, soul, mind , and spirit to pray for Nigeria.
” Intercede for Nigeria on insecurity, leadership and yourself. This is the best time to connect with our maker,” he said.
The cleric disclosed that ramadan fasting is Allah’s command and must be prioritized by muslims as instructed in the Quran 2 vs 182 ” O Ye believers, we have command you to fast in the month of Ramadan”.
He encouraged muslims to be pious, observe ramadan and be devoted totally by behaving and talking in the way that pleases Almighty Allah.
The Chief Imam however advised women not to starve or punish their husband during Ramadan by not preparing food for them.
” Play your own path as wife and prepare your husband food on time and get the reward from Almighty Allah,” he said.
He also advised men to help their wife in doing some house chores and not leave everything for them.
Ajiyobiojo added that wives are not slaves and can be assisted when the chores become too much for them to do during fasting.
