Kwara Police Boost Security in Eruku After Bandit Attack on Community

 

Eruku community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State received a high-profile security visit yesterday as the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adekimi Ojo, led an on-the-spot assessment following reports of recent violent incidents in the area.

CP Ojo was welcomed by the Divisional Police Officer of Eruku and other tactical commanders to coordinate an immediate security response.

He was later received at the palace of the Owa of Eruku Land, His Royal Highness Oba Busari Ayinde Oyediran Olarenwaju, Amuludunloye I, alongside Mr. Michael Oganwu, State Director of the Department of State Services, and other senior security officials.

The monarch expressed gratitude for the visit and called for increased security presence to protect residents and property.

“We are grateful for the Commissioner’s visit, and we urge the government to provide more security personnel to safeguard our people and property,” he said.

CP Ojo also engaged community leaders, local vigilante operatives, and residents to gather firsthand information on the attack.

He assured the public of the command’s commitment to restoring peace, stating, “We are determined to restore peace and ensure that those responsible for this attack face justice.”

The security team visited Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Isegun, where Pastor Bamidele recounted the incident and guided officials around the premises. CP Ojo is personally overseeing a strategic evaluation, coordinating the deployment of personnel and resources to rescue victims, apprehend perpetrators, and rebuild public confidence.

The Kwara State Police Command has promised to provide updates as the situation develops.
