OAIC Convention Urges Women to Embrace Forgiveness, Peace, and Unity
The annual convention of the Organization of African Instituted Churches (OAIC) concluded at the weekend with a strong call on women to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness, peace, and unity.
Delivering his message at the Resolution Church of Christ, beside the 7UP Bottling Company in Ilorin, Pastor Oyeniyi Jeje of the C&S No. 6, Sabo Oke, urged women to sow, nurture, and sustain the seed of peace in their hearts and communities, especially as members of OAIC in Kwara State.
According to him, “The country will be better off if we have more God-fearing women holding leadership positions in government and society at large.”
Pastor Jeje also encouraged women to influence their husbands and children to always do what is right, stressing the importance of prayer for families to walk in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of God’s will.
He listed some attributes of a God-fearing woman to include seeking God first, serving others, being courageous and prayerful, teaching God’s word, encouraging others, solving problems, and being a good role model.
The cleric further urged women to emulate the virtuous woman described in Proverbs, adding that “it is time for the woman of God in every believer to stand.”
Also speaking, the Acting North Central Chairperson of OAIC, Rev. Mother Abimbola Olobatoke, admonished women to remain steadfast even when wisdom seems to fail, when they are mocked, or when life’s challenges appear overwhelming.
She noted that there is a divine burden that comes with being a woman of God, emphasizing that “no matter how one tries to run away from God’s call or title, His hand remains evident in the life of a true woman of God.”
In her remarks, the Mother-General and Assistant Director of OAIC, Prophetess Bosede Adimubua, described the conference theme — “Let the Woman of God in You Stand” — as timely and relevant, considering the prevailing moral and social challenges in the country.
She cited the biblical example of Esther, saying that in times of crisis, a woman of God must rise, intercede, and take decisive action for the good of her people.
Other dignitaries who gave goodwill messages at the 17th Annual Convention included Pastor Olatunde Oladokun, Chairman of SEAP Holdings Company, Ilorin, and Evangelist T.O. Adeboye, Chairman, OAIC Kwara State, among others.
