Community Commends Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi for Proactive Role in Strengthening Security

The people of Igbomina land have commended the Chairman of the Igbaja Progressive Union National Executive Council (IPUNEC), Dr. Oluwatoyin Alabi, for his proactive leadership and unwavering commitment to improving security and community welfare across the region.

In the wake of rising security concerns in parts of Kwara South, Dr. Alabi has been widely recognized for spearheading efforts to mobilize community vigilance, strengthen collaboration among local stakeholders, and maintain active engagement with government agencies to safeguard lives and property.

Community observers noted that while it is essential for local communities to take initiative in addressing security challenges, many lack the human, material, and financial capacity to act independently.

They emphasized the need for the government to intensify its intervention and support, even as citizens continue to complement such efforts through vigilance and cooperation.

Analysts have linked Igbomina’s past developmental setbacks to an overreliance on self-help initiatives that often allowed the government to shirk its responsibilities. This time, they argued, the balance between community participation and governmental accountability must be sustained to ensure lasting progress.

The security situation in Kwara North was also highlighted as a point of concern, with reports indicating higher levels of banditry in the area. Unlike Igbomina, the region has been less vocal in demanding decisive action, which some believe has contributed to the persistence of insecurity there.

Dr. Alabi’s leadership within IPUNEC has continued to attract praise for its inclusiveness, transparency, and results-oriented approach.

Alabi’s  interventions have reinforced confidence in communal unity and demonstrated the vital role of organized leadership in addressing security challenges at the grassroots level.
