KWASU Suspends Relocation of Agriculture Faculty to Ilesha-Baruba
The Kwara State University (KWASU) has announced a temporary suspension of the planned relocation of its Faculty of Agriculture to the Ilesha-Baruba campus.
In an official memo signed by the institution’s Registrar, Dr. Kikelomo W. Sallee, and addressed to the faculty on Thursday, April 24, 2025, the university management directed that the move be put on hold until further notice.
The statement noted that a fresh date for the relocation would be communicated in due course, suggesting that the university is taking more time to ensure proper logistics and planning are in place.
“Management wishes to inform the Faculty of Agriculture that the earlier scheduled relocation to Ilesha-Baruba campus is hereby suspended. A new date will be announced in due course,” the memo read in part.
The Faculty of Agriculture was initially expected to begin the Rain semester at the Ilesha-Baruba campus, but the decision to delay has now shifted that timeline.
Though no specific reason was given for the suspension, insiders suggest that infrastructural readiness and staff accommodation may be part of the factors being reviewed.
Students and faculty members are now expected to await further instructions, as the university reassesses the move intended to expand academic activities across its campuses.
