ECWA Fate-Tanke District Urges Government to Tackle Poverty, Extend Rural Development

The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Fate-Tanke District Church Council (DCC), has called on the Federal Government to intensify efforts to address poverty and ensure inclusive development in Nigeria.

This message was conveyed in a New Year statement signed by the Council Chairman, Rev. Dr. Samuel Olayioye, and Secretary, Rev. Dr. Joseph Agboluaje.

The Council emphasized the need for concrete actions to alleviate poverty, describing it as a persistent challenge undermining the nation’s progress.

“The Federal Government must prioritize tackling poverty to bring relief to millions of Nigerians struggling to survive,” the statement read.

Additionally, the Council appealed to state governments to extend infrastructure development to rural areas, ensuring that no community is neglected in the push for progress and modernization.

The leadership also encouraged Christians across Nigeria to remain steadfast in prayer, seeking divine intervention for the country’s challenges.

“As we enter a new year, we urge believers to seek God’s guidance and remain devoted to prayers for the nation,” the Council stated.

The church further called on ECWA members in Fate-Tanke and beyond to embrace its 2025 theme, “You will seek me and find me” (Jeremiah 29:13), urging wholehearted devotion to God.

In a related development, the Council announced preparations for its 10th-anniversary celebration, scheduled for July. Members were encouraged to actively participate in the milestone event.
