Gov. AbdulRazaq Hails Osimhen, Oshoala’s CAF Awards 2023

Mallam Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, the chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and the governor of Kwara State, has joined  millions of people around the nation wishing Nigeria well and congratulating the athletes who won the African best player award in both the male and female categories.

This is contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Tuesday.

“I join compatriots and football fans across Nigeria to celebrate the incredible feats of our star players Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala as they were named African Players of the Year in the male and female categories respectively at the #CAFAwards2023.

“This, remarkably, is the first time after 24 years Nigerians are returning simultaneously as best players in both categories. It is a proud moment for all of us.

“I also extend hearty congratulations to Nnadozie Chiamaka for emerging Goalkeeper of the Year (female category) and to the Super Falcons on the award of National Team of the Year.

“We are indeed excited about these great achievements that have once again put Nigeria on the continental map of football. We will continue to support our talents to secure more wins, ” he said.
