INEC Declares APC Ahmed Usman Ododo Winner of Kogi State Governorship Election

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ahmed Ododo has won the November 11 guber election in Kogi state.

The State returning officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election, announced the results on Sunday night after the final collation of results.

In the Kogi State governorship race, the primary contenders include the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). These political heavyweights are vying for the leadership position in the state, and as the results are being tallied, the electoral landscape is tense with anticipation.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is currently in the process of compiling the results of the governorship election in Kogi State. According to reports from BusinessDay, INEC organized off-cycle governorship elections on Saturday, November 11, 2023, in Bayelsa, Imo, and Kogi States.

In the Kogi State governorship race, the main contenders are the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Social Democratic Party (SDP), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). As of now, Ahmed Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is leading the polls, securing victories in 12 local government areas (LGAs),  Yakubu Murtala of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) has claimed victory in seven LGAs while Dino Melaye of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is yet to win any.
