Police In Kwara Arrest Suspected Kidnapper of Magistrate Bamigboye, 20 Others, Recover Arms

Kwara state police command has arrested one of the suspects that kidnapped wife of the former governor of Bauchi and Osun states, Magistrate Jumoke Bamigboye in Eiyenkorin in Ilorin.

Parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters in Ilorin, the state commissioner of Police, Paul Odama said the command arrested twenty other suspects and recovered charms as well as arms.

He said Abubakar Shehu a.k.a Dogo the leader of the suspected kidnappers of the Magistrate was arrested by a combined team of vigilantee and police along Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, following an intelligent information of activities of the suspect in the area.

Mr Odama said another set of five kidnappers were also arrested by a team of Policemen attached to Banni Division in conjunction with local vigilantes in the forest.

He said during interrogation the suspects confessed to be kidnappers, noting that two of their members by name Bayo Dudu and Aliyu Abubakar stayed in Niger State.

The commissioner noted that effort is still on to arrest the fleeing members of the kidnap gang.

Mr Odama explained that the remaining eleven suspects were arrested on offences of being members of secret cults, attempt to commit culpable homicide and belonging to gang of theives.

He said various incriminating items were recovered from them.

Mr Odama maintained that all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as Investigations are concluded.
