NSCDC prevents bloody clash among Fulani family in Kwara

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Kwara State Command has prevented further bloody clashes among some Fulani family members in Ikoroku area, Kaiama local government area of Kwara state.

According to a statement signed by the NSCDC spokesman in Kwara State, Babawale Zaid Afolabi in ilorin on Wednesday, trouble reared its ugly head after the death of one Alhaji Bello.

“According to report we got from our divisional office in kaiama, after the death of one Alhaji Bello, his younger brother took his wife which did not go down well with the children of the deceased.

“They accused their uncle of complicity in the death of their father”. Babawale said.

Babawale noted that the children of late Alhaji Bello vowed to take back their father’s wife and mother from their uncle and this later led to a bloody free for all.

“As the matter escalated, one Babbi Aliyu was attacked with cutlass which left him with multiple injuries in his nose and started to bleed profusely”¹

NSCDC spokesman narrated further that the operatives of the corps in kaiama got a distress call and rushed to the scene to prevent further attack.

The officer said the victim was rushed to Kaiama general hospital from where he was transfered to Teaching Hospital in llorin.

He said that the assailant has been arrested and further investigations ongoing.
