ODU President Receives Sen. Rafiu, Who Promises Support For City Hall Project

The National President of the Omupo Descendant Union (ODU), Dr. Monisoye Sola Afolabi, on Tuesday received in audience, Senator Dr. Rafiu Ibrahim who was on private visit to leaders of the community.

Receiving the senator on behalf of the community at his residence, the ODU President, who congratulated the Kabiyesi, Olomu of Omupo, HRM Oba Yakubu Adebayo Buari Ilufemiloye II, for the great things happening during his reign, said that meeting was at the instance of the former commissioner for economic planning and national development, Alhaji, Wasiu Odewale, who is also a son of Omupo.

According to ODU President, I had the honour to receive Senator Rafiu Ibrahim at my residence yesterday afternoon on behalf of the Kabiyesi and the community.

“I reiterated the appreciation of Kabiyesi and ODU for his support, especially in respect of the City Hall project.

The president prayed for long life long, peaceful reign and prosperity for the Kabiyesi.

” I briefed Senator Rafiu on progress to date, on the contributions of Omupo indigenes, and the status of the construction.

“I also wished him, on behalf of the Kabiyesi, and the community, God’s guidance and support in his Senatorial bid.

“I reminded the senator that the kabiyesi as the royal father for all, is always ready to receive members of all political parties and appealed to them to conduct their political affairs peacefully and in the interest of the state,” he said.

Dr Afolabi noted that the royal father is apolitical and has always advised politicians in his community and in the state to shun violence.

Respondibg, Sen. Rafiu appreciated the Kabiyesi for his royal prayers always and reaffirmed his commitment to the progress and development of the community.

The Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, who further agreed to visit the City Hall project, personally commended the work so far and promised to make further contributions to the work.
