NSCDC Arrest 3 Suspects For Alleged Robbery, Raping of Pregnant Woman

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), kwara state Command, has arrested three (3) Suspects; Lawal Ibrahim 25years, Muhammed Issa 19years, and Ibrahim Ahmed 20years for alleged Rape and Robbery.

This is contained in a statement signed by the command spokesman, Ayeni Olasunkanmi and made available to Choicereporters in Ilorin on Saturday.

He said, “A case of Rape and Robbery was reported on the 5th July at the NSCDC Woro outpost.

“The crime reported to have happened at Woro Village in kaima LGA, Kwara state at about 2:00hrs. The victims (A 7months pregnant woman and her husband) were allegedly attacked in their house at Woro.

“The 7 months pregnant woman was allegedly raped and some items were carted away by the assailants.

“Upon getting the report, the state Acting Commandant, DCC Jonah Gabriel gave oder that the perpetrators be fished out.

“However, Luck ran out on the suspects has one of them Lawal Ibrahim was arrested by our men while he was try to dispose the stolen items.

“The suspects (Lawal Ibrahim) gave some confessional statements which eventually led to the arrest of other two suspects,” he said

The spokesman said the suspects have been arraigned before Judge Usman Lukman of GD-1 Area court Kaiama, adding that the Judge has ordered that the suspects be remanded at the federal correctional Centre, New Bussa till 27th of July 2022.

Meanwhile, the Acting Commandant DCC Jonah Gabriel has appeal to the public to always support the corps with timely and accurate information so as to ensure a more secured and violent free society.
