CP Assayomo Reacts To Killing of Police Inspector, Kidnapping of Chinese National In Kwara

Unknown gunmen struck on Thursday at a quarry site in the Shao area of Moro Local Government of Kwara State, killing one mobile police officer and abducting a Chinese citizen.
Reports indicate that the gunmen burnt the car allegedly used in the operation and disappeared into thin air.
One other police operative reportedly injured in the attack is said to be receiving medical attention at an undisclosed location.
Speaking on the incident, the Kwara State Police Command Spokesman, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said ” the command is working round the clock to get the victim rescued and perpetrators apprehended.
“Meanwhile, the command is in a mourning mood over the killing of one of our operatives,” he added.
According to Ajayi in a statement, the Commissioner of Police, Tuesday Assayomo, has set up a special investigation team to investigate the matter.
He said, “the people of Kwara State would be briefed accordingly of our progress please.”
ChoiceReporters recall that on 2nd of July 2022, at about 1615hours information was recieved by the Kwara State Police Command to the effect that, some armed men suspected to be kidnappers invaded the premises of CGC construction company along Shao /Oloru express way, shot and killed Inspector Adebayo Adeforiti attached to Pmf 15, Ilorin who was on guard duty at the company ,and abducted a Chinese National working in the site and escaped into the bushes.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Police Command,Cp Tuesday Assayomo psc (+) on reciept of the information, ordered an intense and discreet search, rescue and arrest operation into the matter with the deployment of the Command’s Tactical teams, vigilante and local hunters into the area for possible rescue and arrest of the perpetrators.
“The good people of Kwara State are advised to be vigilant, make available to the police any information that could aid the success of this special rescue operation.
“The CP commensurates with the families of the deceased police Inspector and that of the abducted Chinese, promising that no stone would be left unturned towards ensuring that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are apprehended and made to face the full wrath of the law,” Ajayi said.
