APC youth group leaders pass vote of confidence on Gov. Buni

Coalition of the All Progressives Congress Youth Groups has passed a vote of confidence on Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State for his “role as leader of the party”.
The vote of confidence was announced by the Convener of the group, Malam Bashar Binji on Sunday in Abuja.
According to the group, Buni remains the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker and Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC).
“We, most particularly, wish to call on youths and other members of the party to disregard fake news and all other attempts and ploys to destabilize the party and successes recorded so far.
“No well-meaning party member will condone any distraction at a time when the Buni-led CECPC has done so much to reposition the party in line with the guidance of President Muhammadu Buhari.”
The group urged party members to be reminded of the productive leadership that Gov. Buni had given to the CECPC and the party at large.
“Since being in the saddle, Gov. Buni has continued to increase the fortunes of the party,” Binji said.
The Group’s convener noted that Buni, alongside other members, was able to bring several top ranking politicians and governors into the APC.
According to him, the list includes governors Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Bello Matawalle of Zamfara State, Umahi of Ebonyi State as well as Gbenga Daniel, Chief Jimoh Ibrahim and Stella Oduah, among others.
The group said that despite the challenges confronting the party before Buni’s emergence, he was able to stabilise the party through several reconciliatory efforts and commitment.
According to the group, this accounts for the increase in the number of governors in the fold of the party.
“As we approach a very crucial transition year, 2023, we must invest more in every effort that can promote unity and peace,” Binji said.
The group expressed optimism that the APC, through this means, could achieve a better Nigeria for all Nigerians. (NAN)
