NSCDC Boss Tasks Corps On Global Fight Against Disasters, Pandemics

Dignitaries at the World Civil Defence Day in Kwara State

The Kwara State Commandant, NSCDC, Makinde Iskil Ayinla has called on the international community and other stakeholders to capitalize on the potential of the Corps operatives toward coordinating the people in the fight against disasters and ongoing pandemics.

The Commandant made this call on Tuesday in the goodwill message he delivered on the occasion of the World Civil Defence Day (WCDD) at the state command’s headquarters in Ilorin.

The occasion provided the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) the opportunity to join the rest of the world to mark 2022 edition of the International Civil Defence Day.

Speaking in the back drop of the 2022 theme tagged: ” Civil Defence and Management of Displaced Populations in face of Disaster and Crises; Role of Volunteers And The Fight Against Pandemics”, the Commandant explained that the NSCDC constitutes the closest to the realities of the communities and are also the least expensive resources.

In his address, Kwara State Governor Abdul Rahman Abdul Rasaq congratulated NSCDC on the occasion of their day seizing the opportunity to improve in their synergy with other security agencies to rid the state of the criminal elements.

Represented by the SA to the governor on Security Matters, Alhaji Muhideen, the governor reiterated in the readiness of the state government to always supports security operatives in the State.
