Police Nab Three Suspects Over Isale Jagun, Kuntu, Adewole Unrest In Kwara

The Kwara State Police Command says it has arrested three suspects in connection with the Tuesday crisis that erupted at Isale Jagun and Kuntu areas of Adewole in Ilorin, the state capital.

The Command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP, Ajayi Okasanmi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin on Tuesday.

According to him, one sustained injury and he’s receiving treatment in one of the hospitals in the area.

Choicereporters recall that the areas affected witnessed uneasy calm between 12 mid night of Monday and Tuesday morning when some youths indulged in an unruly behaviour, destroying cars and other valuable properties without clear cut reason as at the time of this report.

However, one source said the crisis was ignited by some youths fighting over girl friend while others read political meaning to it.

The rampaging hoodlums allegedly freely used guns, broken bottles and machetes.

During the bloody confrontation limps were broken and vehicles smashed.

In deed scores of others who sustained varying degrees of injuries are currently recuperating in an undisclosed hospital in the metropolis.

The state police command confirmed the incident, hinting that it had already arrested three persons.

It added that the fourth person is recuperating at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH).

The command spokesman, Okasanmi disclosed that the Commissioner in charge of the command,CP Tuesday Assayomo, had ordered investigation into the matter, with a view to getting to the root cause(s) and bring perpetrators to justice.

The PPRO, who said that peace had returned to the troubled areas, qouted his boss as advising parents and guardians to check the conduct of their children and wards against breaching peace in the state.
