Kwara Speaker Urges Old Students To Bolster Their Alma Matter.

The need for Old Student Associations to come together and rally round to ensure continuous growth and development of their Alma Mater has been emphasized.
An old student of the Baptist Grammar School, Okuta and Speaker, Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Engr. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu made the assertion while addressing a large gathering of the students, both past and present, and dignitaries at the Golden Jubilee of the School in Okuta, Baruten Local Government Area of the state.
Engr. Danladi-Salihu who extolled the contributions of the founding fathers and the staff, both past and present of the Baptist Grammar School pledged continuous support to the school in particular and the education sector in general, stressing that the government of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq places a high premium on critical sectors in the state including the education sector.
“Stepping into this school today evoked nostalgia, I could flashback to my days in the late 1990s as a student of this great school, I commend the founding fathers and the staff, both past and present of this great school for their wonderful work.
“This school has churned out several students who are doing wonderfully well in their chosen career, some of them are professors, politicians, business tycoons, Medical Doctors, Lawyers among others”

“We are committed to doing more in the education sector, as can be seen by all, the Junior section of this school is among the beneficiaries of the remodeling and reconstruction effort of the present administration, with the passage and signage into law of the 2022 budget, the secondary section too would witness facelift because the government of AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq is committed to revamping the education and all other sectors to reposition the state and restore her lost glory, this is not a political talk, the workers especially teachers and pensioners can attest to this. “
“This is why we would continue to seek for your support for the second term of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq come 2023 so that he can build on the success he has achieved and do more for us”
The Speaker who received an award of excellence from his Alma Mata thereafter, on behalf of his friends and colleagues, the 1999 set of Baptist Grammar School, Okuta donated the sum of one million naira to the school.
In the entourage of the Rt. Hon. Speaker were his counterpart representing Okuta/Yashikira state constituency, Hon Muhammad Baba Salihu, member, Assembly Service Commission, Hon Saidu Bode, State APC Deputy Chairman, Hon Abdullah Samari, Baruten TIC Chairman, Hon Rasheed Lafia among others.
