Insecurity: FG restates commitment to training, retraining of Security Personnel

The minister of Interior ,Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola says the ministry will ensure adequate training and retraining of personnel in charge of internal security to ensure safety and security of citizens across the country.

Aregbesola stated this while declaring open the Ministry of Interior 2nd Ministerial strategy Retreat ,Themed : “Developing Internal Security and Public Safety Towards A Five Year Strategic Plan For Accelerated National Development,” held in Ilorin the Kwara state capital.

According to him, the challenges bedeviling the nation can appear dounting but are sumountable.

Ogbeni Aregbesola condemned the attacks on the nation’s custodial centers ,adding that all inmates that escaped will be re- arrested through their data.

He urged all participants at the retreat to use the period to brain storm and put in place a strategic plan that will bring an end to the challenges of internal security in the country.

In his remark the Controller -General, Federal Fire Service, Dr.Liman Alhaji Ibrahim said Nigeria is gradually coming out of the challenges of insecurity as well destruction of fire.

Dr. Liman Ibrahim noted that the new strategy put in place will give investors confidence to invest and develop the nation’s economy.

In his paper presentation tittled”Improving Nigerian’s Preparedness for Internal Security and Public safety threats: A case for A Medium Term Strategic Plan.The guest lecturer , Dr Abdul Hamid Hamisu, said there is the need for the formulation of strategic plan to resolve challenges as they occurred.
