Saraki Turns Suspended ‘Alabaru’ Into Business Owner, Clears Three-Year Rent Debt

— Gives shop, warehouse, goods worth millions to Kwara woman

Former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has empowered a suspended market porter, popularly known as Alabaru, Hajia Ajara Jimoh, with a fully stocked shop, a warehouse and goods worth millions of naira, while also clearing her outstanding three-year accommodation debt.

The intervention followed a viral video in which Jimoh alleged that she was suspended from working as a market porter at Mandate Market, Ilorin, over her alleged support for Saraki and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State.

Rather than offering temporary financial assistance, Saraki opted to provide her with a sustainable means of livelihood by helping her establish her own business.

Through his aides, the former Senate President settled the three-year accommodation debt owed by Jimoh, secured a new shop and warehouse for her and purchased goods worth millions of naira to enable her to begin business as a shop owner.

The empowerment items were delivered to her new business premises at Ile-Kolobo Compound, opposite Adangba Sawmill, Oju-Ekun-Sarumi, Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Speaking with Jimoh by telephone during the delivery, Saraki urged her to make judicious use of the shop and the goods provided, describing the intervention as an opportunity for her to make a fresh start and establish a sustainable source of income.

He also assured her of continued support as she settles into her new business.

According to Saraki’s Press Officer on Local Matters, Abdulganiyu Abdulqadir, the intervention reflects the former governor’s longstanding commitment to supporting vulnerable members of society and helping individuals overcome difficult circumstances through meaningful empowerment.

The items were delivered by Saraki’s Personal Assistant, Mr Baba Idris, and Abdulqadir.

The intervention marks a significant transition for Jimoh, who has moved from working as a market porter to becoming the owner of a fully stocked business, with a warehouse to support its operations and the additional relief of being freed from three years of accumulated accommodation debt.
